Soda Club Soda Machine Review

Today's Review is for a Soda Lover's Starter Kit from Soda Club!

Soda Club sells at-home soda making machines that enables you to (very easily) make your very own Seltzer or Soda (pop) in a large variety of flavors. The benefits of making your own soda at home, you ask?

• There is less waste (since you are using the same bottles over and over)


• It's healthier (no fructose syrup! Plus it contains less sugar, carbs, sodium, and calories than national brands of soda)


• You get to control the amount of carbonation


• Bottles are recyclable after there use is up, plus they are BPA-free


• When your carbonator runs out, send it back to Soda Club and they will refill it for you (which saves money from having to buy a whole new one!)


• Requires no electricity!


• It's easy and fun!

Having tested out my own SodaStream soda machine, I can honestly tell you all that this is the best thing since sliced bread! It really is so simple to use; within 10 minutes of opening the package up I was enjoying my own homemade soda. Seriously people, it's that easy. (click on the image to the right for a fast demo) After installing the carbonator, I filled my bottle up with water and twisted it into the machine. I pushed the button down, (this made me nervous at first, I was afraid that I would probably do something wrong and break my machine, but, lucky for me, I didn't) and pushed it a couple of times until I heard the buzz, which actually isn't as loud as I thought it would be, and then preceded to push it down to let it buzz a couple more times.

Next up, I unscrewed the bottle and put in my flavor. Okay, when they tell you to slowly pour in your flavor, they mean it! I might have missed reading that part of the instructions at first (okay, I completely missed it, I was just too excited to use my machine and didn't read the instructions as thourougly as I should have) and I just poured the flavor right in there, fast as lightening. Needless to say, it fizzed up and over the bottle and made a mess. So, when you make your soda, please do it s-l-o-w-l-y :) Then I put the cap on, rotated it a few times, and voila! Yummy, delicous soda!

Now to my favorite aspect of this whole machine. Experimenting! Ever since I was younger I have loved experimenting in the kitchen with anything and everything. So the fact that I get to mix up different flavors and see what works and what doesn't, really makes me happy. I came up with my own recipe that tastes an aweful lot like one of my fav sodas, Ruby Red. Yum! Don't get me wrong, the flavors they have are delicous and I have really enjoyed them (grape is my absolute favorite), but I just can't help trying to create even more flavors. :) I feel like a kid in a candy store! Also, with all the flavors, experimenting or not, you can make your soda as light as you want or as heavy as you want. Same thing with the carbonation, I don't like a lot, but my husband (the soda-addict who has dubbed this his "new favorite toy") likes the usual amount. Now we can completely customize our drinks exactly how we want them. Which makes both of us happy. :)

With the holiday's coming up, this would be an awesome gift for, well, anyone! Also, can you imagine how fun this would be to have at parties? You can make everyone exactly what they want. How fun would that be? This is definitely a must have item!
