Today's Mommy Review is for a pair of I-Walks from Bobux!

Bobux Baby Shoes was started by New Zealand designers Chris and Colleen Bennett back in 1991 when Chris noticed his wifes ongoing frustration with their 9 month old daughters shoelaces constantly coming undone, thus making the shoes fall off. He then noticed that his daughter loved wearing her cotton prewalkers. So, taking a few ideas off of that, and many of his own, while replacing the cotton with leather and suede, and adding the original Bobux elastic ankle device, Bobux was born. Soon moms started noticing and wanting a pair, this lead to Chris trying out a craft market in which he sold out in 2 hours. After 6 months Bobux was in full production. Since then it has grown to being sold in over 18 countries world-wide with 1.5 million shoes sold each year.

Plus there are several imitators, which, as Chris says, "imitation is the ultimate form of flattery.” He also says on this subject, “The companies that have copied us in the past haven’t developed the same design and innovation culture that we had from day one and the new products the company plans to release from 2007 onwards will be more difficult to copy so blatantly.”

Calvin has a pair of the I-Walk Juniors in the Mocha High Top and I cannot begin to tell you how awesome these shoes are. Well, I suppose all you have to do is look at them and you get the idea. :) Love them. All I wear is Converse so I jumped at the chance to get Calvin a pair of shoes that were similar to mine. They are so high quality, and the leather is so incredibly soft. I was very impressed with these shoes.

I can't even imagine how they are able to make such quality shoes when the shoes are so tiny, but Bobux definitely manages it amazingly. I'm just sad that Calvin will grow out of them soon! :( Hopefully i'll have another littlle boy so he can wear them too. Oh, who am I kidding, I would even put them on a girl if I had one! They'd look good on both :) Plus, Bobux has a few other shoes that I'm eyeing. It's definitely a company I will go to again and again.

And one other thing I wanted to point out, notice that on their shoes the design is facing your child, not away from them. That way they get the fun of seeing the pictures right side up!

And yes, Calvin is totally doing the "Monkey Face" in this picture, lol :)
